LANDIS & GYR PULSAR CARDS.
In the year 2000 Landis & Gyr introduced a new chip card telephone system with the brand name of 'Pulsar', aimed primarily at the UK market. One 50u demonstration test card was produced plus four different maintenance/engineering cards (encoded in pounds sterling). The issue quantity of the engineering cards was 25 of each value, and very few of these have survived.. All cards are encoded using the ODS module.
With the demise of Landis & Gyr, in December 2000, as an operational business, much interest has been shown in all cards associated with what many people believe to be the leading company in telephone card production.
Only one installation is known currently using these phonecards, this being a Detention Centre
in the north of England.
